  • 1. As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Bestech has always ensured that the basic facilities are provided to the workers including a Crèche facility (Day Care Centre) for the children of the workers. The “Crèches” of Bestech Group under aegis of Mobile Crèches are :-

      • PV Sanskruti (Sector-92) , Gurgaon
      • PV Residency, Mohali.

  • The support from Bestech Group & Mobile Crèches is making a continuous change in the lives of the children of the day care center at the various construction sites. The disciplined life & imparting education at the Crèche has improved the children’s state in terms of physical care, health, learning, safety and better opportunities for development.
  • Each crèche has about 4 Teaching staff apart from 2 helping hands. Approximately 200 children are presently being looked after at the various Bestech Crèche functional facilities.
  • The children are grouped in following categories at the crèches :-
    • Crèche : 0 to 3 yrs,
    • Balwadi : 3 to 6 yrs,
    • Non formal education: 6 to 14 yrs
  • The Crèche is functional during the day shift when both the father & mother are working at the site.
  • The Important Activities are as follows :-
    • All children between age 9 months + were given multivitamin and iron drops.
    • Children in the age group 3 – 12 years were given iron syrup twice a week.
    • Growth monitoring of all children took place :-
      • Children were weighed on 10th of each month & malnourished / underweight children were put on special diets as Recommended by Dr.
      • 500 kilocalories per child per day through 3 meals were given – breakfast (Suji kheer/halwa, Soya cereal), lunch (khichdi, daliya, and dal with vegetables and soya keema,) and evening snacks (groundnuts, roasted chana, jaggary and groundnuts, banana)
      • Regular Growth Monitoring for all children
      • Special nutritious meal was given to malnourished children banana, egg, cereal mix (wheat, chana and sugar).

  • Community Awareness & Activities :-
    • RSBY meeting- this meeting was conducted with 15 male and 23 female to make aware people of this scheme. 9 people have RSBY Card and 9 persons has got benefit from the card in village.
    • Finance Literacy meeting- this meeting was conducted with 16 males and 51 females to make aware people of this scheme, 11 people got opened their Bank Account, and 11 people are in the process of opening account.
    • Parents Meetingz A total 19 male and 45 female participated which was need based meeting organized on Care & protection from birth to 6 years, Needs of children as per the age, to understand aspects of child security
    • Street Play- Mahek Theatre Group performed street play to make aware community on the issue of Nutrition and Cleanliness where 80 males and 105 females were witnessed of the events.
    • Gender Sensitization Week was celebrated from 18th Sep to 24th Sep’2015 in which main activities were performed by children such as painting, paper folding, clay & mud toys, slogans, street play, rally etc.
    • Saathi Samuh workshop – Two Saathi Samuh workshops were organized on Nutrition and Cleanliness and there are one male and one female members.
    • FGD- FGD meeting were conducted on cleanliness with 13 male and 50 female.
    • Festivals such as Eid, 15 August, Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtmi were celebrated

    • FGD - FGD meeting were conducted on cleanliness with 3 male and 8 female.

  • Project Objective, Strategies, Activities, Targets, Achievements and Analysis

    • Project Objective:- To reach 50-60 construction workers’ children per center up to the age of 14 with a special focus on birth to 3 years at Park View Ananda, Gurgaon, Park View Residences, PV Sanskruti Sec-92, Gurgaon in Mohali through manifold strategies to improve their situation in terms of physical care, health, learning, safety and better opportunities for development.
    • Strategy: Provide direct childcare services at large construction sites.
    • Activity: Run daycare facilities (to suit mothers’ work timings - 8 hours a day; 25 days a month) at all the four construction sites, Gurgaon for 50-60 children per Centre where proven strategies connect the components of health, nutrition, education, and community awareness to the tangibles in the outside world.

      • Health Camp was organized at PV Grand Spa ( Sec-81) where 175 males and 75 female community people were beneficiaries. Facilities of camp were General check-ups; free medicines, Quiz on Early Childhood and Child Development (ECCD), Gynaecology check-up, and HB test etc. were conducted. 10 people were referred for further treatment.
      • Eye Check-Up- Eye Check-up was conducted where 5 children were treated out of 105 children in PV Grand Spa (Sec-81)

      • Street Play- Mahek Theatre Group performed street play to make aware community on the issue of Cleanliness where 150 males and 50 females were witnessed of the events.
      • Festivals such as Republic day, Holi were celebrated.
      • RSBY meeting- this meeting was conducted with 20 males and 46 females to make aware people of this scheme. 7 people have RSBY Card and 2 persons have got benefit from the card in village.
      • FGD- FGD meeting were conducted on cleanliness with 8 males and 20 females.
      • Finance Literacy meeting- this meeting was conducted with 5 males and 25 females to make aware people of this scheme.
      • Sports Day – Sports day was celebrated where 76 children played many sport games and won prizes.

      • Saathi Samuh Workshop (Group of Community Leaders) - Organized Saathi Samuh workshop with its members at Raja Bazar, Delhi to sensitize them on Nutrition (It was feedback workshop on Nutrition). These members spread MC messages to other community people.
      • Street Play- Mahek Theatre Group performed street play to make aware community on the issue of Nutrition where 40 males and 60 females were witnessed of the events.
      • Festivals such as Bal Divas, Cleanliness day, Christmas were celebrated.
      • FGD- FGD meeting were conducted on cleanliness with 6 males and 13 females
    • The following other routine activities are :-
      • Age-appropriate education activities were undertaken. Children were encouraged to read books from center’s library to enhance their vocabulary.
      • Theme Based Prakalps- Different Prakalps themes based were run in this quarter with Balwadi children on Fruits, vegetables and water, and with NFE Children on Jungle and life skills.. Children completed their worksheets as per daily activity of Prakalps.
      • School Admission- 6 children were admitted into Govt. School from Bestech-92.
      • Balwadi Workshop – Conducted workshop for Balwadi workers on Story-telling.
      • NFE Workshop- Conducted workshop for NFE workers on Jungle
      • The Bal Sabha - Bal Sabha is organized for giving knowledge to children on different issues. During this quarter, total 376 children attended Bal Sabha on Discussion Festivals, Discussion Great Persons of India and Environment, Fruits, Water, Life skills, .
      • Excursion Visits- Exposure visits were organized in Bestech-81, Where 45 children was taken to Om shanti Om. These visits provide opportunity to children to relate classroom learning to outer world.

      • PDP: Project leaders attended the workshop on parents’ development program
      • FGD- Mmeeting were conducted on cleanliness with 3 males and 26 females.
    • The following other routine activities are :-
      • Children are encouraged to write &read to enhance their vocabulary.
      • Learning is supported through project work to supplement what they learn in books.
      • Doctor’s visits are regularly organized to monitor the health of the children. The children are given Multivitamin, iron drops & de-worming medicines.
      • Meals @ 500 calories per child per day are provided to the children to include timely intake of food such as Milk, kheer, Cereals etc.
      • The Bal Sabha (children’s meeting), are conducted on Saturdays by older children to facilitate development of confidence, communication and leadership qualities.
      • Celebrations like: Republic & Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Rakshabandhan, Dusshera, Diwali and children’s day are celebrated with full enthusiasm by children.
      • As part of community awareness, Mothers’ Meetings are conducted regularly at the centre. Issues taken up include importance of education, prevention from heat stroke and other summer-borne diseases.

      Project Objective:  To reach 50-60 construction workers’ children per center up to the age of 14 with a special focus on birth to 3 years at Park View Ananda, Gurgaon, Park View Sanskriti and Park View Residences in Mohali through manifold strategies to improve their situation in terms of physical care, health, learning, safety and better opportunities for development.

        • All children between age 9 months + were given multivitamin and iron drops.
        • Children in the age group 3 – 12 years were given iron syrup twice a week.
        • Growth monitoring of all children took place. Children were weighed on 10th of every month and malnourished/underweight children were put on special diets as recommended by doctor.
        • Multivitamins iron dose were given to children. Iron tablets were distributed to lactating mothers.
        • Health Camp - Health Camp was organized in Bestech-81 center where 4 children and 139 community people were beneficiaries. In the camp, General check-up, Blood test, HB test etc. were conducted.

      • Objectives: To improve the health status of all children attending a Mobile Crèches program by strengthening the child’s nutritional status, ensuring adequate age-appropriate nutritional interventions.

        • 500 kilocalories per child per day through 3 meals were given – breakfast (suji kheer/halwa, Soya cereal), lunch (khichdi, daliya, and dal with vegetables and soya keema,) and evening snacks (groundnuts, roasted chana, jaggary and groundnuts, banana).
        • Regular Growth Monitoring for all children.
        • Special nutritious meal was given to malnourished children banana, egg, cereal mix (wheat, chana and sugar).
      • Education
      • In the entire Centre’s of Mobile Crèches, a thematic approach is followed to make learning more focused and interesting. Various teaching learning materials are available and used by the staff, such as Dolls house, sands pits, hand/thumb/finger painting supplies, blocks and other toys.

        Objectives: To provide a developmentally appropriate learning climate to every child to mainstream him/her into the government Education Programme System

        • Age-appropriate education activities were undertaken. Children were encouraged to read books from center’s library to enhance their vocabulary.
        • Theme Based Prakalps- Different Prakalps themes based were run in this quarter with Balwadi children on Myself, Home, Pet Animal, and with NFE Children on Life skill, Village & town and My country India. Children complete their worksheets as per daily activity of Prakalps.
        • Creche Workshop – Crèche Worker attended this workshop on Crèche Curriculum from these centers.
        • The Bal Sabha - Bal Sabha is organized in every center monthly for giving knowledge to children on different issues. During this quarter, total 75 Bal Sabha was conducted on Importance of education, ORS, Protection from sunstroke.
        • The Summer School Programme - a week long activity programme was celebrated in the last week of June'14 (22nd June'2015 to 27th June'2015), children came together and put their brains to make creative songs, poems, drawings, art & craft activities and much more. 80 children enjoyed doing a variety of activities and beat the heat in the summer season and even exhibited the items made by them on the last day of the programme. Staff was overwhelmed with the pro-activeness shown by the children during the whole programme.
    • Community Awareness

      • Street Play- Mahek Theatre Group performed one street play to make aware community on the issue of Cleanliness in Bestech-81 centers where 20 males and 22 Females were witnessed of the events.
      • Media- Khilta Bachpan Media was conducted in these centers where 5 males and 20 females were witnessed of the event.
      • Parents meetings – Need based meetings were organized on Importance of first milk i.e Importance of education, ORS, Protection from sunstroke where 20 male and 85 female parents participated in these centers.
      • Saathi Samuh Workshop (Group of Community Leaders) - Organized Saathi Samuh workshop with Saathi Samuh members at Mathura, Vrindavan to sensitize them on physical and environment cleanliness in the camp. These members spread MC messages to community people.
      • RSBY meeting- this meeting was conducted with 10 males and 25 females in the centers to make aware people of this scheme.
      • Finance Literac y meeting- this meeting was conducted with 5 males and 15 females in the centers to make aware people of this scheme.
